tulane urban build
this website was sitting in my inbox this morning:
bildit
the founder of the firm, byron mouton, had recently initiated a design build course at tulane university in new orleans aptly named tulaneurbanbuild. last year was the inaugural year of the course, with a nod to well known programs as the rural studio, the ghost lab, yale building project and studio 804.
read more about byron and his pursuits at life without buildings, and dwell.
on a somewhat side note-rural studio was in the newyorktimes this last weekend. check the article here.
special thanks to lil'chris, epicure of epicures and bam bam for the links

LTL wins award for being "fabulous"
we had to post this photo. it is just TOO...something. the source of our bladder contracting laughter?
lewis.tsurimaki.lewis architects won a james beard award for best restaurant [xing]. you know-the one with the green acrylic mobius strip.
and why do we laugh so hard? maybe it's the matching suits...or the olympic sized medals...or the mischievious grins.
whatever it is-it's too much fabulous-ness in one photo.

aiming high
with construction starting this summer and opening in 2009, the four seasons tower looks to include some of the most
ugh...anyone else feel fat now?
we suppose that this is a good sign for the economy in denver, if not only because of tourism, but also for the master plan of new construction to accommodate arriving masses associated with the democratic national convention arriving here in summer of 2008.
