clyfford still update

the clyfford still museum website has been updated with a few additional images for the new allied works building:








just looking at the site plan for the new museum conjures up strange feelings about the blatant disregard for an architectural master plan in this part of denver's downtown. it is a an intense mix of "styles", and each project is dying for attention in its own way [don't forget me [old DAM]; look at me, please [DPL]; i dare you to look at me [new DAM]; and don't look at me [CSM]...].

it is the ultimate "bilbao" recipe-- a dish with too many cameo chefs: ponti, graves, libeskind, and cloepfil.

our tummy hurts...

Pecha Kucha Night Denver

Come to be entertained [and just maybe even learn something] or just to throw tomatoes at me...

Pecha Kucha Denver [Vol. 1] will be taking place at the Buntport Theater Company this Friday, March 28th starting at [what else?] 20:20 and end at 22:00. for those on the outside of the loop, the origins of Pecha Kucha as a rapid-fire lecture series on all kinds of topics, was started by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham in tokyo.

jaimie kopke from designklub and angela schwab from inv/alt design are the spear heads for the first volume here in denver.

first off we must offer apologies for the very long post-technological limitations have forced our hand...

the following is a documentation of last summer's ghost ix with brian mackay-lyons near halifax, nova scotia, canada. guest architect: ted flato from lake | flato architects. guest critic: robert mccarter, author of the new louis i. kahn monograph.

by the way, if anyone is thinking of applying for this year's ghost x, the deadline to mail applications was february. 28th [last week]. hope you all got yours in. if not there's always next year...
